Quantifying how our environment affects us

The 14th International Conference on Quantitative Methods for the Environmental Sciences will be held as a parallel conference to the 50th Anniversary conference of the South African Statistical Association (SASA).

 Highlights of the conference to date are:


    Workshop on estimating space-time trends by Peter Guttorp, Paul Sampson and Wendy Meiring. (Monday)

    Scientific tour (Tuesday)

    Presidential Address – Thomas Polfeldt, Statistics Sweden: “Making Environmental Statistics Useful: A Third World Perspective”  (Wednesday)

    Hunter Lecture – Jim Zidek, University of British Columbia:  "Modelling Environmental Space-Time Series" (Thursday)

    Conference dinner (Thursday) at which the award for the student paper competition will be made.

    Panel discussion on: Where do environmetricians come from? Issues of  education and outreach (Friday)
